Refrigerated Air Dryer – Compressor Too Cold?

Problem: Is the compressor on your refrigerated air dryer too cold?

Cause: There is a good chance this is caused by the flow of refrigerant from the evaporator to the suction line and possibly compressor, because of an incorrectly set thermostatic expansion valve.

Solution: Set the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) for a higher superheat, typically turning clockwise.
